Red Flag Express №22

Two events you can’t miss!

• Fredy Villanueva, never again!

A family friendly demonstration will take place on Saturday, October 11th to remember the two-month anniversary of the murder of young Fredy Villanueva by the Montreal Police. Organized with the support of around twenty groups, including the Montréal-Nord Républik, the Collective Opposed to Police Brutality, the “Mothers and Grandmothers for Life and Justice of Saint-Michel and the RCP, the demonstration will demand a public and independent investigation of the events surrounding Fredy’s death, the end of racial profiling and police abuses and impunity, and “the recognition that economic and social inequalities will lead to social insecurity.”

As the Sûreté du Québec apparently released its report that allegedly white-washes the involvement of the Police Officers involved in the death of Fredy , it is important to take to the streets to raise awareness about these issues and events so that they are not stifled and swept under the rug. The gathering will take place at 2:00PM at Pilon Park at the corner of Pie IX and Henri-Bourassa in Montreal-North.

• Anti-Election Protest

A demonstration will take place on Tuesday, October 14th in Sherbrooke, on the evening of the Federal Election, to denounce the “electoral illusions”, empty speeches and opportunist promises” of our bourgeois politicians. The gathering will happen at 7:00PM in front of the Town Hall, on the corner of Frontenac and Du Palais.

The event follows a public meeting organized by the Sherbrooke section of the Revolutionary Communist Party that was held on Thuesday, October 2nd at which approximately twenty people participated. (For more information,
